PROGRAM DURING THE EXHIBITION

My idea of inviting conversations during my exhibition period is to reflect on how much has changed since the pandemic and up until today – or is it just something I imagine? That is why I have taken the opportunity to invite interesting artists to hear their thoughts on what it means to work as an artist in our time. How do they navigate a world that is changing rapidly, where the role of the artist is challenged by technological advances, economic pressure and the shifting values of a global society? I feel that it is more important than ever to listen to the voices of others. //Joakim Stampe

First up on 12/3 are Benedikte Esperi and Chuyia Chia to discuss their experiences working in the arts today, both as organizers and practicing artists. On 15/3, Mattias Norström will create a performance in the gallery or outside the gallery. Mattias Norström

Mattias Norström

In Mattias Norström's art, nature, craft tradition and popular culture collide. He often uses clear symbols that are loaded with unexpected content through brutal or tender treatment. Mattias Norström was born in 1971 and graduated from the Valand Academy of Fine Arts in 2002. Previous solo exhibitions include Missionen Gagnef Konsthall (2013), Galleri 54, Gothenburg (2011) and Katrineholms Konsthall (2011).
